Ben Jewell

        I am blessed to have grown up in a trout fishing family. The Jewell family cabin in northern New Hampshire is where I caught my first trout, and is where the ashes of my relatives lie. Four miles from my house in Alexandria is a fly fishing only river where I learned to match summer mayfly hatches, and where I caught an eighteen inch landlocked salmon the day of my high school graduation.  It is also where I first thought I could become a fly fishing guide. 
        I have spent the last seven fishing seasons in soutwest Montana, and average about 150 days on the water a year.  I have been told by many people that I am obsessed with fly fishing, I usually tell them it is a passion not an obsession.
