Directions and Maps

Our shop is located in Gardiner, Montana, 53 miles south of Livingston, Montana, the closest access to an interstate highway (I-90).  The closest airport with regular commercial access is located just west of Bozeman, Montana, an hour and fifteen minutes away by car, in dry weather.  There are several flights a week from Denver, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, and other large cities, making Bozeman the best airport to fly into if arriving by air.  A map of the region, a map of Gardiner, and directions from Bozeman and elsewhere follow.  Please don't laugh too hard at the maps.

Driving Directions from Bozeman

1. Head east on I-90 towards Livingston.  Remain on the Interstate for approximately 25 minutes depending on traffic.
2. Take the second Livingston exit.  This is the primary Livingston exit and there are signs identifying it as US-89, in addition to signs identifying it as the route to both Gardiner and Yellowstone Park.
3. Head south on US-89, which parallels the Yellowstone River the rest of the distance to Gardiner, 53 miles.  If you drive the speed limit, it's about a 45-50 minute trip.
4. We are located on US-89 (known in Gardiner as Second Street South) near the south end of Gardiner.  Look for the shop on the left just after you cross the Yellowstone (the second time you will cross it since leaving Livingston).  There are signs on both sides and the front of the building; that on the north side has our name and a painting of a cutthroat trout.
5. We do not have a parking lot.  On-street parking is present and usually sufficient.  If a parking spot is not available, Main Street (the next crossing street after you pass our shop, about 50 yards away) features ample parking on both sides of US-89.
6. If you reach the T-junction across the street from the Yellowstone Park boundary, you've gone 75 yards too far.

Driving Directions from Yellowstone Park

1. Follow your Park map to the north entrance.  Exit through the historic Roosevelt Arch.
2. The road immediately hits a T-junction.  The main road (US-89/Park Street, commonly known as Front Street) obviously bears to your right.  The Old River Road heads left.  Bear right onto Park Street.
3. Watch the road signs, as there are no stop signs.  US-89 makes a 90-degree turn after about a quarter mile.  The turn is signed.
4. Our shop will be on your right just after you cross Main Street, about 50 yards after your turn.  Park on Main if you don't see an empty spot on US-89.  Heading this direction, you'll see our "boat logo" sign, a picture of two anglers and a guide in a stylized drift boat.  Our name is on the sign.  This sign is somewhat harder to see than the one on the north side of the building, so keep your eyes peeled.
5. You've gone too far if you cross the river.
